I enjoyed the events this day in celebration of World Teacher's Day at U.M Matina Campus. Today's experience is undoubtedly be part of my yesterday. I find this call tiring but I take it as an inspiring journey. I am still lucky Lord and thanks for the opportunity that I can be a blessing to my students. Sometimes, I am straightforward with my emotion and conviction in my class as a simple reflection that I just did my part but I should not forget to establish human connections to them. I never thought of becoming a professor. I never thought of being in U.M because I just put in mind before that having a diploma is enough for me. I find it a success. The rest is God's will. I'm happy because I'll be turning three years in teaching.
The fact that teaching is an instrument to touch lives. I have observed that students tend to give up the journey in learning because teacher fails to establish human connection, aside from poverty and lack of motivation. Teacher should always put in mind that students never learn if they don't like the teacher. I find it a wrong perception but it can be true. Being a friend, an adviser, a preacher, motivational speaker, a dancer, a singer, an actor and being weirdest person in the world, I am still a son of God that I need to be humane. It is one of the factors that a teacher must need to consider in teaching. It starts with the word, "Love." If you know how to love the things that you do, you will be inspired, motivated and positive to teach the students. You will end up having the feeling of happiness. And that something is not easy to explain. I have remembered that during my first and second interview while I apply in U.M with the same question, "What is teaching for you?" and "How do you want to be remembered?" I simply replied: What is fun in teaching is seeing my students smiling while learning. I want to be remembered by my students as a good or a bad teacher. I have to let them choose whether to let them have a better or a bitter life in the future.
