I know how much effort I exercised in my class just to simply make my students become grounded on the things they see, hear, feel, touch and listen. There's nothing wrong with having concentration where students have to be grounded. General education subjects are noted in its objective of making the students become socially, philosophically, aesthetically and linguistically inclined individuals. If they want to make college graduates be enamoured about being humane (makatao), then allow them to be exposed in the aspect of arts and humanities. They will truly appreciate the beauty of life and everything that exists. Don't make the students turn into robot where they become an alien of its nation's history and beauty.
