December 25, 2018. Merry Christmas and Beyond

Now, I see Christmas Day is celebrated in different ways. With these ways, I found the essence at heart. It is inseparable. I am happy to see at people’s faces the excitement as they went home to bond on their families from different places. When I was in a bus terminal, they are full of hand carry items like foods and drinks. When I went to the public market, everyone is busy. When I passed by on my neighbor’s house, I cannot help myself but to join their happy faces with greetings’ exchange. Drumbeats, loudspeakers, home-made trumpets and Christmas carols added the spectacular celebration. The exchange of gifts at home becomes an easy venue to prevail the love for each other. I am also happy to check out their Facebook posts that they wear their new dresses and are surrounded with their flaming house decorations as well as table presents. This portrays diverse forms of party. Wow! All these ways to celebrate are meant to contextualize their beliefs and practices as Christian by faith. Our Muslim and other non-Christians have shown so much respect. I admire their love despite the kaleidoscope world of faith. I should not be confused now that there is a miracle that we can be one as family for love and by love without love if’s. This season of joy is not just a celebration but to make our imagination happens. This sparks colors of unity notwithstanding diversity. To dominate this not just in a day but daily is to celebrate Christ’s Day meaningful and beyond.
