Your noble ideas are always welcome if grounded on the objective reality that you can qualify your idea. I have to post a question before I will start discussing the beneficiality, necessity and the practicality of using critical discourse analysis as an applicable approach in analyzing a particular exchange of communication.
What actions are to be revealed by the critical discourse analysis? For the previous approaches, ethnography of communication revealed an action imposing and managing frames of meaning and identities and the typical data to be used in the analysis are audio and video recordings or ethnography observations. In conversation analysis, it revealed an action accomplishing interactional life in real time and the typical data to be used are audio and video recordings. How about the critical discourse analysis? Based on the concept of critical discourse analysis, the beneficiality of this approach, it revealed an action constituting and regulating the social and the political world; the operation of power but sadly, sometimes language is used to manipulate the mind, action and the decision of the people. There is a necessity of using typical data in order that critical discourse analysis is applicable basically include the official and unofficial texts; speeches; media accounts and representations as well as a product of interviews. Practically, the challenge of critical discourse analysis is to achieve a universal recovery of different issue in relation to its objective that it challenges the injustice and those societies which democracy is lacking. Now, the question is, can critical discourse analyst challenge those countries which are practicing communist political or government system, just to achieve its aim in order to have a social justice to people. Unfortunately, there is an unwritten law that if you are under the authority and so, in just a simple word, it frightens the intended audience or the receiver of the message. How can an analyst applying this approach be granted the anticipatory action or the expected outcomes after analyzing a particular critical moment of communication. I am referring to the language that is used by New People’s Army, leader of communist countries, political Solons as well as the language used by the teacher to the students in giving remarks or even controlling the behavior.
Therefore, this approach has a limitation although it challenges the principle of egalitarianism. This principle challenges a society with its objective favouring social equality and justice. Whether you like it or not, the above premises presented are still unanswered. The critical discourse analysis is very broad and I feel sorry because sometimes, we will be misguided in using this approach. Anyway, this approach allows analyzing a transpired discourse just to reveal the reality of how the language is used in order to manipulate the mind, the decision and action of man.
